  • Our employed educators teach Transitional Kindergarten (TK) – 5.
  • Our volunteer educators teach Transitional Kindergarten (TK)  – 1.
  • 15 – 30 classes/week for employed educators
  • 2 classes/ week is typical for volunteer educators
MFM provides training in classroom management and educational practices, as well as lesson plans, online curriculum resources, 1:1 mentoring, and on-going support.


Employed Educators
  • Love working with children, grades TK-5!
  • Have excellent classroom management skills
  • Be able to read music, sing on pitch, and learn quickly
  • Be outgoing, upbeat, organized, and patient
  • Have ability to transport educational materials to multiple school campuses
  • Pass a background check (part of interview process)
  • Attend training
Volunteer Educators
  • Be able to sing on pitch, keep steady beat, and read music
  • Attend training
  • Be out-going, organized, and patient
  • Pass a background check
  • Love working with kids!

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and experience in music performance or education (applicants currently completing a relevant degree may be considered)
  • Have demonstrated ability teaching music in an elementary classroom
  • Be available at least three days/week

Physical Qualifications:

  • Regularly sit, talk, dance, move equipment, and visually and aurally interact with students
  • Be able to lift up to 40 pounds, turn, bend, and reach as necessary for classroom teaching and for transport of educational materials and musical instruments


For employed educators, we offer competitive contract pay, per sessions taught. Volunteers do not receive compensation.
