Weekly Sequential Curriculum
MFM students build musical skills step-by-step and grade-by-grade, through singing, song-based children’s media, rhythm instruments, movement, and instrumental instruction. Our curriculum includes songs from more than 40 countries and regions

Why recorders?
In 3rd grade, students start learning the recorder, an easy-to-play, lightweight instrument. It teaches reading musical notes and playing in a group, while laying the foundation for learning other instruments.
See the recorder in action: enjoy this Scots tune and this Baroque sonata.
Music and the brain
Educator Anita Collins explains the fireworks that go off in musicians’ brains when they play music and examines some of the long-term positive effects of this mental workout.

A nonprofit driven by impact:
Every aspect of our program is designed to ensure every student has access to music education.
