Valerie Meyer

As we prepare to celebrate our 50th anniversary, Music for Minors (MFM) is entering a new chapter in its story. We are thrilled to announce that Valerie Meyer has joined us as our new Executive Director.

Valerie brings nearly two decades of leadership experience in the private sector, where she guided global teams in consumer goods and technology companies. A student of music and proud parent of two MFM students, she is deeply committed to ensuring every child has access to the joy and lifelong benefits of music education.

From Valerie:
“As a parent of two Music for Minors students, I have personally experienced the quality and positive impact of the program. I am honored to join this organization and deeply grateful to the Board of Trustees for this opportunity. I would also like to thank Marcy Straw for her exceptional skill and dedication in leading the organization over the past year.

As MFM nears its 50th year of service, our mission to ensure every student has access to music education remains as important as ever.

I look forward to working with our talented team of staff and music teachers to continue serving students from preschool through sixth grade across the Bay Area.”

From Board Chair, Homer Wong:
“Valerie’s vision and leadership come at the perfect time as MFM enters its 50th year. She is the right person to guide the organization into a new era of growth and innovation, while honoring the legacy of service that has defined MFM for half a century.”

We can’t wait for you to join us in celebrating our 50th year — and in welcoming Valerie to the MFM family!
