Darren Lam is a Bay Area musician whose own musical journey was shaped by programs such as Music for Minors. He began playing flute at age 10 and has more than a decade of experience with the instrument, from participating in school bands and orchestras and attending Ruth Asawa School of the Arts to earning a bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance from Lawrence University. Darren hopes to bring those experiences into the classroom to nurture young musical minds and a lifelong love of music. Outside of teaching, he performs with the Bel Canto Flute Choir, serves as co-principal flute of the Bay Area Rainbow Symphony, and enjoys gardening and practicing Ikebana.
